Web Based Project Management with AceProject
There are a lot of different project management software solutions available. A short list can be found on Wikipedia. When I found AceProject, a web-based software, I sign on the demo account and played around. It seems to offers a nice variety of features (e.g. time tracking, Gantt charts, calendars and document management) but is not overloaded and is therefore still easy-to-use and affordable.
The software can be used online or hosted on the client’s server. This could make sense for example for projects using sensitive information or if the client likes to integrate it with in-house applications. Hosted packages on the other side don’t require any software installed at the client’s site.
The software can be evaluated for free for an unlimited period of time, offering the full functionality, but is limited to 5 users, 5 projects, 50 tasks and 25 MB on their server capacity.
